I have recently been trying to get my Sony Bravia TV to operate with a plugin with IP control instead of using IR which I found unreliable. The original plugin was written by Josep Fargas but I could never get the launchApp function to start any App’s on the TV. After some digging and using an app from aczoom
https://github.com/avinash311/sony-tv-remote/archive/master.zip that I used to verify the operation of the Sony API functions and get a list of commands and Apps installed on my TV I modified the original Josep Fargas plugin and it now functions with my 65" Sony XBR TV. The plugin attached has the mods that I inserted and they work with my TV but users may have to get a list of Apps and there “uri” from there own TV using the aczoom tool that I used.
