Entering hex values for color

More often than not, I am needing to enter hex values for colors rather that choosing one of the options from the palette. This has proved challenging to do. If I don’t click just the right place, the palette comes up. If I carefully click right after the # and delete the existing FFFFFFFF, I can enter my values - but sometimes a bunch of Fs are added back in and I have to delete them again.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better / more graceful way to do this?

Don’t click the square rectangle on the left. That will open the palette dropdown. If you click the hex digits then you can enter your hex value directly.

I thought that’s what I was doing, but probably not. I’ll give it a try later today when I’m home from work.

Here is what I found. I double-clicked on the hex digits and got this (so far so good):

I then typed “FFA” and got this:

I then cursored to the end of the line and used backspace to delete the last two characters and got this:

Every time I backspace to get rid of an “F”, another one gets added after where my cursor is. If I then type in my desired value (in this case FAB128), I get this:

Then I have to use the delete key to get rid of the trailing "F"s. This is 100% repeatable for me (I tried the sequence four or five times while grabbing these screenshots). I’m very curious to see if you see the same behavior.

I’ll add that I tried this on two different computers and see the same behavior.

This has been fixed in 4.4.5.0

Cool - thanks for the quick turnaround Bill!
