FIbaro devices on custom grid

Hi,

I’m trying to make the first page. I connected easily to my Fibaro HC2. In DEVICES I see all Fibaro devices. I created a new page. I created a simple grid of 6 weirs and 6 columns on it. However, I have a problem with placing Fibaro devices in the individual fields. I just want some dimmers and some switches.

I know you can use Device Browser for this. I add devices to individual groups and they will be listed automatically.

But, however, I would rather work on a grid and simply be able to place some selected devices somehow because I want to add some buttons or other actions next to it. And using Device Browser, unfortunately, I will not be able to fully control the system.

If it is possible ?

Yes. This is possible.

Although I’m guessing this might not be your only question :slightly_smiling_face: If you can be any more specific about what’s got you stumped I’d be happy to explain in a little more detail. Is it Buttons, Labels, where are you stuck?

Here are 2 tips to help learn the software:

  1. Review the default templates. We give you a working project that you can tear apart & make your own. Each device that’s synced will be assigned templates which reside in the Templates folder. Those are really set up no different than the custom page you are designing. You can even copy-paste controls from those pages onto your custom page.

  2. Watch the How-To videos. Brian, John, & Anderson have each recorded an excellent collection of YouTube videos that can help walk you through most aspects of designing a custom page.

To control a dimming device you can use a Slider.

To control a switch you can use a ToggleSwitch

Yes I know.

But I was rather concerned with whether it is possible to simply drag a specific device onto the grid. And on the basis of the template (be it a dimmer or another), showing it with the description and all the mechanics.

In the way you showed for all devices, you should define events step by step, etc.

I already have a modified template for the dimmer. And now I would like to connect a dozen Fibaro devices to it. I thought you could just drag the detected devices to the Grid and point to the template :slight_smile:

You can sort of do that with the PageBrowser. Just set the Page & Device properties to what you need. The only thing is, the Tile Clicked EventTriggers will not work. You’ll need to add an actual Button to your template.

I created an object Page Browser on my Grid. But I’m not sure what you mean with Page & Device :frowning:

Sorry for questions on this level, but I could use a tutorial on adding Fibaro, Vera etc. devices. I watched with adding my own buttons but I did not find in this topic :slight_smile:
