Forum Update: Tackling the Recent Spam Issue

Hey guys! Sorry for my tardiness here—I appreciate your patience as we tackle the recent spam activity. To help manage this, I’ve added @Brian_Laroche as an admin.

As a temporary measure, I’ve set the forum’s new account creation to “invite only,” which should prevent further spam. Once we’ve finished deleting the spam accounts, we’ll update to the latest version of Discourse and configure its enhanced security settings.

After these updates, we’ll restore the normal account creation process. Thanks again for your understanding as we work through this!

So glad to see you are still around !! I really hope THR survives and thrives as I dont see much in terms of alternatives, at least not in the way I am using it.

Are new topics currently restricted? I can’t for the life of me figure out how to open a new topic in the Issues category!

Looks like that is the case - perhaps they will reactivate the “New Topic” option once the spam cleanup has been completed = - Bill?

Thanks @gregkinney , i see the New Post button now. But I managed to resolve the issue I was going to post about, so I don’t need it at the moment!
