How to add custom plugin to device listings

I am working on a plugin but would like to add it at runtime like a device. How can I get my plugin added at runtime? How do normal devices get added into the Devices Source list?

This currently isn’t supported. You will need the Designer to add plugin sources. You can synchronize device objects within an existing plugin during runtime but you can’t add new sources.
