Issue loading hrp file - Android

I can’t seem to load the hrp on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S21 FE).

Initially when I got the .hrp file and tried to load it, it told me I did not have any apps that were capable of opening it.

I saw a message on here that someone had a zip file because it saves like that due to some Android devices having trouble with the .hrp file.

So, I put the .hrp file into a .zip file, and tried to open that with my phone. That allowed me to open the file with the Home Remote app, however, it’s the default setup, and does not have any of the changes I made before saving my project.

Nevermind. I figured it out on my own.

I had to open the file in Notepad++ and save it as a .zip that way, rather than actually creating a zip from it.

But why should we have to do that in the first place - is it an Android 12 issue?

I just tried to install a project on the S22 and ran into the same problem.

Uh, the xxx.hrp file is a zip file already. You can just rename the file from xxx.hrp to xxx.zip if you want to make it simple.

On my Android Samsung phones, HR will directly open files with either .zip or .hrp.

I know it’s already a zip file. I just wanted to know why the Android experience doesn’t play nicely with the files with an .hrp extension.

Interesting it works on your Samsungs…what version of Android are they; as noted above, it doesn’t work on the S22, which is Android 12 (and I think the S21 FE is also v12).

S22 Ultra (Also on Android 12). Also works on an older Samsung on 11.

I place my hrp file into the Download directory, then use the Settings Backup->Restore in the HR.applicaiton.

But you need to rename to .zip, right?

As I said above, HR opens either .hrp or .zip files just fine, at least when doing the Restore on my phones. Have you tried it just as I described?

I returned the device a few hours ago.
