There is python support for Leviton Decora smart switches. Any chance this could be ported into The Home Remote?

That code might help a little but it still takes a while to port code. It rarely ever saves any time. Honestly, a well documented API is preferred. What I would rather see are the official API docs from Leviton, if they are available.
