Moving Tiles on page

I try to move my tiles in a page (not group) but I cannot. How do you do ?

I can’t get scrollviewer, wrap pannel, Stack Panel, Canvas to work. Or else I did not understand the possible options. Does anyone have a project with moving tiles, vertical / horizontal scrolling in a specific area of the page?

Thank you in advance

The DeviceBrowser is the only control that supports moving Tiles during runtime. All other layout changes can only be made during design time.

For WrapPanel & StackPanel you’ll have to use the “Outline” pane to move/reorder controls. This is done with drag-and-drop.

One problem you’ll run into with the ScrollViewer is that you won’t be able to scroll during design mode. So what you’ll have to do is temporarily increase your Design size so you can add/edit what you need. During runtime it will scroll as intended.

I try to test by combining everything but I can’t seem to move the 3 tiles :frowning:
Just ScrollViewer Work for me.
What can be moved? all ? Buttons, images, circle?

You need to use the Outline pane to reorder items in a WrapPanel. If you need to reposition them you’ll have to do so in the Properties pane by using margins. In a Grid, items can easily be moved/repositioned by simple drag & drop in the main center design view. You can’t do that with a WrapPanel. My suggestion to you for the time being would be to maybe get rid of the WrapPanel & just use a standard Grid. With a Grid you’ll be able to easily move & reposition items in the main design view. Once you feel comfortable with the software, then maybe you can branch out & try the WrapPanel, StackPanel, etc.

do you have an example with 2 tiles? I still can’t figure it out it’s really stupid. I did not find a topic regarding this on the forum.

wow, I have the impression when reading you that I have not understood it  I want to be able to organize my tiles with my fingers on the application, as is the case with groups. But do it directly in the designer to then be able to move the tiles with your finger.

I am looking for a solution to move the tiles with my finger on the smartphone.

The only control that will allow you to move tiles on your smart phone is the DeviceBrowser. That control is pretty flexible. Here’s an example showing how to embed that control into a custom page.

I have the impression that it works only with the principle of groups and with tiles pages and devices.

I just tried to create a page1.xaml tile but I’m not advanced yet still don’t understand so I got over more complicated with HR.

I have the impression that all the elements that make up a tiled page can be moved like group automation. but I can’t add a tile page in the Device Browser. What I am doing must not be good.

Look at Page1.xaml in that example I shared, both “Virtual Switch 1” & “Virtual Switch 2” can be rearranged in the actual apps. The simulator does not support reordering of those devices.

I have the behavior to add another VD. Also I deleted 1 hard VD 3. But this principle is based on groups. I’m trying to do the same chosen on a TabbedPage but it doesn’t work.

A TabbedPage is composed of multiple ContentPages. So you can use that same Page1.xaml file in a TabbedPage layout as well.

Hello @bill

It took a long time to figure out.
In my mind I didn’t want to touch the Groups and wanted to do everything with the Designer.

Mechanics (and it makes sense now) can only move tiles built on the basis of a template by associating various elements on a tile in this one.
At this time the tiles can be moved in their entirety with the DeviceBrowser.

I was stupid for wanting to move multiple elements making up a button in a simple grid with a DeviceBrowser placed below. So I created my custom templates with the expected effects, I can make PagesTab and benefits. Then I create Group folders, and I associate my Pages which contain the DeviceBrowser with Groups (Common> Group) I wonder however what is the use (Common> DeviceGroup) because I can not choose anything inside.

The experience on this Damned DeviceBrowser was not easy :frowning: and I thank you for the patience and the time allowed to get things into my head

I had tried HR a long time ago but I had been forced to stop because I was on OS X with emulation and it was very slow. Ever since I’ve built a PC for gaming and I can see the full power of HR, it’s phenomenal. Thank you for the spirit of sharing of a solution like this, where the cloud is not oriented and with a price so reasonable that it hurts! I have been modifying my comment (Studio93) in the PlayStore for better feedback with Fibaro etc. … and I will spend the next month donating paypal because the price of this application is ridiculous.

A DeviceGroup is a group of devices defined in a 3rd party service. Unlike a Group which is defined in the Home Remote. Only a few integrations have support for the DeviceGroup objects so generally speaking you will use the Group option. At this time, only these integrations have support for DeviceGroup objects:

  • LIFX
  • Philips Hue
  • Wink
  • Zipato
