The Home Remote and Amazon Music

Wouldn’t it be great if the Home Remote wall-mounted tablet could be used to control whole-home audio streaming from Amazon Music…

Anyone know if theres a Web Page, or other control or integration to allow The Home Remote to manage playlists and Now Playing, and be able to select which Echo Device the music should come out from ?

Anyone done anything similar ?

thanks

Anyone done anything similar ?

Sonos has that use-case down pat (I know, not a THR solution, but thought I’d mention it in case you’re able/willing to look at other solutions).

You’re right…. But I don’t have any of their hardware. And I don’t want to switch apps on the wall tablets running HR. I kind of want app launcher in window functionality.
Thanks anyway.

Hi all… i want to come back to this topic. I have a great use case of streaming from my PC Media Player (UPNP DLNA) into my Yamaha MusicCast Receiver, and Home Remote being able to control the media player and view the Now Playing information perfectly… BUT, thats just music on my PC, not from a streaming service.
Sadly, my Yamaha MusicCast Amp doesn’t support Amazon Music… :frowning:

I have read elsewhere in this forum that @bill has the Arylic UPNP integratio working… so I am wondering… the Arylic Steamer (£60 on Amazon) says its supports Amazon Music, and it says it supports UPNP and DLNA…

So do we think that if I got that Arylic streamer, then i’d be able to use my Yamaha to pick it up as a “Server” device (just as it does my PC Media Player), and that i’ve able to stream Amazon Music into it, and pick up all the Now Playing information, and control it from Home Remote via the Yamaha MusicCast Plugin to HR ?

What do you think ?
thanks

Maybe. I’ve never worked with the Arylic Steamer but it might. Sonos supports UPnP but Cloud services like Amazon Music are not browsable w/ UPnP. That’s done using a custom Sonos protocol. For them UPnP browsing is only for local media servers & the playback queue. I wouldn’t be surprised if Acrylic is like Sonos from that aspect. If you want to try it, be my guest. Just be sure to keep your receipts:)
