Unifi Flex Camera

Hello,

I use Unifi Flex cameras, the url call can be done like this (functional and tested)

rtsp://domaine.com:port/5c7a335b584c17b6b1bd5734_0rtsp
but it does not work with HR.

in the uri i tried this : 5c7a335b584c17b6b1bd5734_0
because on SecuritySpy this is how it works but still nothing.

Is this normal, expected, or do something special need to be done ?

Try adding this URL as an IP Camera device to the actual Home Remote apps (Android, iOS, & Windows). RTSP integration is quite a bit different on each & every platform. What works on 1, may not work on another. Compatibility cannot be determined from the Designer’s simulator. The simulator is just a Windows app made to look like an Android or iOS device. You’ll need to test in the actual apps.

Does that exact URL work in VLC media player? Please download & test if you haven’t already.

Unifi Cameras will work utilizing the built-in IPCamera Device Type:
image

Just fill in your IP address and the unique URI string generated by your protect controller.

The iOS side has proved a bit buggy for me with RTSP. I’ve been unable to successfully disable audio and there is a very long delay for the initial image to be displayed.

hello,

@bill work fine with all applications Android (ex : TinyCam Pro), not in Designer, not in Remote HR.
All cameras don’t work with designer, work on remote HR, but not Unifi Ubiquiti.

@Brian_Laroche I test your solution.

Thank you

@Brian_Laroche Work fine !! Many thanks :slight_smile:

Did you download & install FFmpeg?

Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?

Those FFmpeg binaries are 64-bit. They won’t work on a 32-bit machine.

yes i installed the package when HR asked me.
I deposited in c: \ ffmpeg … but I can’t remember which version.

In theory, I should have chosen 64 bits (my system is 64 bits), but I will start the procedure again.

So I looked, the ffmpeg version is 64bits, windows also, the contents of Bin are deposited in c: \ ffmpeg but it does not work in the designer.

I deleted the file, HR offered to download it, I filed a second time. HR does not ask me anything more, it detects that the file is OK but does not display any cameras, but they are visible on the remote control of my smartphone.

I am the only one with the problem :laughing:

OK. RTSP can be a bit of a hit & miss & is very platform dependent. I can maybe look into using VLC for the Designer in a future release. Probably not going to be a hug priority though.
