Unifi Protect RTSPS

Previous versions of Unifi Protect supported normal RTSP streams.
Then for a while they had support for both RTSP & RTSPS streams.
Now they’ve dropped the RTSP Stream support altogether and only have the new RTSPS.

Here is the new connection string they provide in the console:
rtsps://10.10.10.X:7441/q9s2cIPzONGqr0B1?enableSrtp

Here is what the old connection string they provided looked like and a working configuration:
rtsp://10.10.10.X:7447/q9s2cIPzONGqr0B1

Any thoughts on how to get the new connection methodology to authenticate?

You can try changing the Protocol to RTSPS but I don’t think it’s going to work. I just did a quick search through the RTSP library being used & I couldn’t find anything related to SSL or TLS. This is probably going to require some updates to our RTSP library.

Changing the protocol to RTSPS did not work.

However, in an obscure Ubiquiti support post I discovered that although the WebUI is only generating and displaying RTSPS stream links, the original RTSP streams still exist and are accessible using the same generated token and sticking with the original port (7447). So the above connection methodology will still work - for now. However, I think the writing is on the wall that at some point the RTSP streams will be disabled.
