Honeywell Evohome API outside US

Let me email my contact at Honeywell to see if this is even allowed. What I don’t want is to have them block the current access they’ve given me because I used a “backdoor” here.

My other concern is that the link you shared is for a standard single thermostat. It doesn’t include info on how to control a multi-zone system like you have. It’s possible they just give each zone its own “deviceId” but we don’t know that for sure.

I know this is a work around and not a solution to the problem, but what about using Amazon Alexa and its API to reach Evohome?
Of course, one would need an echo or something like that.

What do you think?

Alexa Smart Home Skill API: https://developer.amazon.com/en-US/docs/alexa/smarthome/understand-the-smart-home-skill-api.html

The Home Remote does have Alexa support but you can only send voice commands. Amazon doesn’t let you access 3rd party skills directly. We can’t pull information from the Evohome Alexa skill. But yes, you could add a button in the Home Remote app to open Alexa & tell her what you want to do. That might be good enough for some but I doubt that’ll satisfy the needs of everyone.

Ok. Thx. Idd the link I sent doesn’t seem to do it for this case. I will wait for your response

This week I did hear back from Honeywell & they’ve given me the green light along with some docs to control multi zone thermostats like Evohome. I will need one to connect with for development.

Which one of you would like to volunteer access to their thermostat?

I don’t have time to work on it right now but in a week or so I should. What I can do though is at least verify the OAuth keys they’ve given me are good. That way, if there’s an issue, I can let Honeywell know now while I’ve still got their attention.

What do you need from me for this? I have a 8 zone, 10 thermo stat system

I need you to share an account with me that has access to your system. Email or private message me the credentials if you are interested. My email is support@thehomeremote.com

Missed this one. Good news! You already sorted with an account?

No, not yet. Send me your info if you are interested.

I sent you an email with what I think you need

Yep, that was it. Thank you very much Robin! It’ll probably be a few weeks until I have the integration complete but I’ll keep you up to date on my progress.

No problem Glad to help you to help me.

Evohome is in the 3.12.0 release. I’ve uploaded it to all of the stores but it’s currently only available in Google Play & Microsoft. It’s still processing in Apple App Store & Amazon but I expect it to be available there as well later today or tomorrow.

One thing though,

With this functionality I will start my project wall tablets and I bought the pro licences for all 3 platforms so I can make good use of the designer.
In the designer itself I cannot add the EU Honeywell Evohome. Is there a way that I am not thinking off?

Thank in advance

You need the latest version from thehomeremote.com Uninstall whatever you currently have.

Thought I did. I reinstalled the home remote client… sigh…thx

Hello All
I’m struggling to set up my Honeywell Evo Home, managed to read zone temperature and input a set point but cant seem to set up time duration,
can anyone send over a sample set up for a zone.
thanks in advance

You’ve only got 3 choices in terms of setpoint duration:

  1. Hold until next period
  2. Hold permanently.
  3. No Hold.

You cannot customize the duration. If you want to make a temporary setpoint change. Choose the 1st option, hold until next period.

Thanks for that bill, do you think the properties can be set up to automatically set to the next period
thanks
