It’s been a minute since I’ve been able to focus on this, and I immediately stubbed my toe - I don’t see any kodi listings in Devices, so any guidance would be appreciated.
To be clear, in this case I’m looking to ‘simply’ send JSON commands via buttons to the RaspberryPi running Kodi, with IR to the Sony devices via Global Cache.

I downloaded the plugin HRP file, adjusted the IP address and can nominally control the target Kodi system! Thanks for the help, now figuring out how to just assign commands to certain buttons on my own layout - additional tips are welcome.
It’s similar to what we talked about in the Sony TV plugin part of the forum.
Click the button you want to program → “EventTrigger → Actions → DataAction → Binding” and pick “(thenameofyourkodiplugin).MediaCommand”, and then type the “Value” of the option you want to assign for that button. Case sensitive. You can find the list of values if you open the text portion of the plugin, see screenshots.
Got it, thanks. I was thinking it would be more complicated LOL but there’s still plenty yet to figure out.
