Tuya devices won,t add

When I try to add Tuya supported cameras they won’t add. App goes thru the motions to add but nothing shows up. Not a password or network issue.

The Tuya API does not provide camera access. Your only option here is to use the Home Remote’s generic IP Camera device & even that, I’m not sure if it will work. I don’t know if they give access to those streams to 3rd parties. You can try contacting their support to see if they can give you the RTSP or HTTP MJPEG streaming URLs.

Your best option is to buy an ONVIF supported camera. Those are built to provide easy 3rd party access. Or find a camera manufacturer that openly shares their cameras’ streaming URLs. There are quite a few out there.

I’m not sure if Smart Life camera streams can be accessed by IP Address. I recommend contacting the manufacturer of your cameras to see if they can provide documentation on how to access the camera streams. It’s possible they may only work with the Smart Life app. In general, I recommend users try to buy cameras that support the ONVIF protocol. Tuya video doorbell

The 3rd party API Tuya has for us developers only supports a limited number of device types. That includes lights, switches, smart plugs, thermostats, window shades, & scenes. Anything outside of that will require Tuya update their API to give us access. Unfortunately there’s currently nothing we can do to support your video doorbell.

Support for Smart Life/Tuya Devices

Not through the Tuya integration. If these are traditional IP cameras that have JPEG/MJPEG or RTSP streams you can use the generic IP Camera device.
